Crisp Apples

Crisp apples, Malus domestica, are one of the most widely consumed temperate fruits, belonging to the family Rosaceae. Known for their crunchy texture and refreshing sweet-to-tangy flavor, apples are grown in cooler regions across the world, including northern parts of India.

They are rich in dietary fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, making them a healthy addition to daily diets. Apples are commonly eaten fresh and are also used in juices, salads, pies, and other processed products.

This crop thrives best in temperate climates with an optimum temperature range of 21–24°C and requires well-drained loamy soil. In India, apple cultivation is mainly concentrated in states like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand, where climatic conditions are ideal for high-quality production.
