Kidney beans, Rajma in Hindi is the Kashmir variety, we have. The kidney bean is a variety of the common bean, Phaseolus vulgaris. It is named for its visual resemblance in shape and colour to a kidney. Red kidney beans should not be confused with other red beans, such as adzuki beans which are smaller in size. Kidney beans are an excellent source of molybdenum. They are a very good source of folate, dietary fiber and copper. Kidney beans are a good source of manganese, phosphorus, protein, vitamin B1, iron, potassium and magnesium.
